Beef Stroganoff Recipe
This recipe is a bit different from most stroganoffs. Me and my family don't care for the mushrooms (I omit them) and this recipe is perfect for us. It came from one of my MIL's recipe books.

Ingredients
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 1/8 t black pepper
  • 1 t vegetable oil
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 1 lrg onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 c dry white wine
  • 1 can cream of mushroon soup
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 1 T dijon mustard
  • 4 c cooked egg noodles

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Spray 13x9 in dish with nonstick cooking spray
  3. Place beef in large skillet. Season with salt & pepper. Brown beef over med-high heat until no longer pink. Drain fat from skillet. Set aside.
  4. Heat oil in same skillet over med-high heat. Add mushrooms, onion & garlic. Cook 2 minutes. Add wine. Reduce heat to med-low & simmer 3 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in soup, sour cream & mustard until well blended. Return beef to skillet.
  5. Place noodles in baking dish. Pour beef mixture over noodles. Stir until noodles are well coated. Bake, uncovered for 30 minutes or until heated through.

Alterations


Here is how I make this recipe easier...

Cook beef with salt, pepper, onion and garlic (and mushrooms if you wish). Reduce heat. Add wine, sour cream and mustard to beef and cook until heated through. Add cooked noodles and stir to coat them and cook until heated through. You're done!
