This was delicious; we tend to like food well spiced so I took 1/3 cup Italian Seasoning (McCormick's) and 2 tsp. garlic powder - blended it - then rolled each cheese stick in the mixture prior to inserting it. Any leftover mixture I had went into the sauce/meat/onion mixture. It was excellent. One of those dishes that gets better and better when it is reheated/warmed up.

It was very good, although The cheese that was stuffed in the manicotti melted away during the cooking. I do not know where it went... Still the meal was loved by all.

Wow! This was sooo good! I fixed it for dinner tonight and hubby said fix this one again! I did my usual fix up with canned sauce, (onions, green peppers, celery, mushrooms, a little sugar and some italian seasoning) but other than that fixed as recipe stated. Thanks Beautidiva for posting!

Never thought of using string cheese to "stuff" the manicotti...what a great idea!
