Overnight Oatmeal

- 2 cups old fashioned oats ( not quick or steel cut ) shopping list
- 1 cup yogurt ( opt for the thick Greek variety ) soy yogurt if you want dairy free shopping list
- 1 cup milk: dairy or non dairy ( almond milk, coconut milk, vanilla soy, skim etc ) shopping list
- 1 tsp almond extract or to taste shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla extract or to taste shopping list
- shake of cinnamon shopping list
- 2 Tbs liquid sweetener ( honey, sugar free syrup, maple syrup ) shopping list
- Toppings: ( optional but nice ) shopping list
- crushed nuts, fresh berries, chopped fresh fruit, dried fruit, raisins, dollop of fruit preserve, creme fraiche , more cinnamon, dash nutmeg or whatever you want shopping list
How to make it
- Mix all overnight oatmeal ingredients together and stir very well
- Place in an airtight container and chill overnight or at least 8 hours
- Prior to serving, stir mixture again
- Serve in dishes and add sweetener and or toppings of choice
