Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • To make the topping, combine the flour and butter in a large mixing bowl and rub in the butter with your fingertips until the mixture is combined. Work in the sugar and oats. The mixture should remain lumpy.
  • Spread the plums in an ovenproof dish (sprayed lightly with non-stick spray) and drizzle with the honey or maple syrup. Crumble the topping over the plums.
  • Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the juices are bubbling.
  • The original recipe (which I modified slightly) came from the cookbook, The Kitchen Bible. It also suggested a variation of this crumble using rhubarb. Cut the rhubarb in 1-inch lengths, drizzle the rhubarb with
  • honey and a squeeze of orange juice, then crumble the topping over the fruit and bake.

Grandma always said,"A person just isn't fit if they can't make a good pie crust or a good biscuit"
I never did learn to make a good pie crust...so,I reckon I'm half fit :o)
    ~and~
This fits in fine...A diamond in the rough kind of recipe,so to speak.
    Thank-you
    Kind Regards
