Party Size Double Stuff Sour Cream Coffee Cake

- 2 stick butter, room temperature shopping list
- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 Tbs vanilla shopping list
- 3 large eggs shopping list
- 8 oz sour cream shopping list
- 2 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- dash salt shopping list
- filling: shopping list
- 1 cup chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 cup chopped nuts ( a mixture of nuts like pecans, almonds ) shopping list
- OR part nuts and part soft raisins shopping list
- 1 Tbs cinnamon shopping list
- 1 Tbs baking cocoa powder shopping list
- 3 Tbs dark brown sugar shopping list
- 1 Tbs white sugar shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- favorite chocolate ganache or glaze recipe shopping list
- I melted 4 mini milk chocolate Hersey bars with 4 mini Snickers candy bars until smooth and pourable shopping list
How to make it
- Combine filling ingredients and set aside
- Beat butter and sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs well then the sour cream and vanilla.
- Batter will be on the thick side
- Combine ( sift ) the flour, salt and baking powder ( no baking soda in this recipe )
- Beat the flour into the creamed mixture until well blended in smooth.
- Grease and flour a Bundt pan ( I use Baker's Joy )
- Place half of batter in pan, smoothing with a spoon.
- Sprinkle 1/2 of filling evenly over batter.
- Add remaining batter
- Sprinkle on remaining filling for the topping
- Bake in a preheated 325F oven 60-70 minutes or center tested done with toothpick
- Remove to rack to cool
- Invert cake after 15 minutes to finish cooling
- Glaze when warm or cool
- Note: cake can be presented either way with filling side up or inverted to smooth side
