How to make it

  • In large zipper bag, combine cider, whiskey, lemon juice, horseradish, Dijon, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
  • Add steaks and toss to cover and coat.
  • Let rest at room temperature for up to 1 hour or in the fridge up to overnight.
  • Remove steaks from marinade and grill or broil over high heat about 2-3 minutes, each side, just until cooked to no more than medium rare.
  • Set aside to rest a few minutes, then slice thinly, against the grain. See Photo
  • Build sammiches by adding the steak, sliced onion(I like to slightly caramelize these, first), tomato and BBQ sauce to the hard rolls.
  • Serve with a tangy cole slaw and potato wedges! :)
