Ingredients
  • 1 (2 oz) package of sliced almonds
  • 2 packages of refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
  • 2 tsp. of almond extract (don't use imitation)
  • 8 oz of cream cheese
  • 1 separated egg
  • 2/3 c. of sugar, plus more for sprinkling

Directions
  1. First preheat oven 350 degrees.
  2. Next you can unravel th refrigerated crescent rolls and put in the bottom of casserole pan.
  3. Next push with finger so the fit in the corners.
  4. Now use a bowl and mix the cream cheese, egg yolk, almond extract, ad sugar.
  5. Pour this over the crescent rolls.
  6. Now unravel the second refrigerated crescent rolls and fit this over the cream cheese mixture.
  7. Now take the whisked egg white and brush on top of the crescent roll.
  8. Dab some sugar on top and then sprinkle the almonds.
  9. This will bake approx. 20-25 min.
  10. Let this cool.

This was really good, great flavor! Next time I might fold the rolls in half and use a smaller dish so it could have a thicker crust. Still really good tho!

Entenmann's used to make an almond coffee cake that my mom absolutely LOVED, but they don't make it anymore. Last night my mom said this was BETTER than that coffee cake. She was thrilled; and so was I!! I also liked how easy it was to make! Thank you again for posting an incredible recipe.
