Burgerdogs

- 5 lbs of 85% lean ground beef shopping list
- Dijon mustard to taste- I used 2 Tbs shopping list
- worcestershire sauce to taste, I used 2 Tbs shopping list
- Minced garlic ( I used 4 cloves ) shopping list
- BBQ rub or seasoning, I used 2 Tbs shopping list
- salt and black pepper to taste shopping list
- 1/2 cup fine chopped onion shopping list
- 14- 16 hot dogs shopping list
- Optional: halved mozzarella cheese strings shopping list
- 14- 16 large hot dog buns ( we loved the potato buns ) shopping list
- BBQ sauce to baste if desired shopping list
- Optional condiments: mustard, relish, sauerkraut etc shopping list
How to make it
- Make your meat mixture by mixing the ground meat with the onions and seasonings.
- Let chill at least 1 hour ( may be made ahead of time )
- Remove meat from refrigeration
- Parcel off pieces of ground beef and form ( pat ) into a 6 x 4 inch rectangle about 1/2 inch thick on a piece of waxed paper.
- Lay on one hot dog on top of meat rectangle, add a half of a string cheese if desired ) and roll beef like a jelly roll to enclose the hot dog, pinching off ends to seal.
- Repeat with remaining meat and hot dogs.
- Grill over medium heat, turning to grill all sides
- Baste last 5 minutes with BBQ sauce if desired
- It will take a good 10 plus minutes for the beef to be fully cooked
- Place in buns and add condiments as desired
