How to make it

  • Dough

  • Melt the butter. When it gets cool, mix in sour cream.
  • Add egg yolks in butter mixture and mix well.
  • Add enough flour to make a soft and non-stick dough.
  • Spread the dough over the baking tray, but don't make a thick layer.
  • Apple layer

  • Peel the apples, take the insides and cut into 16 slices each.
  • Put apple slices on the dough one by one into lines.
  • Sprinkle sugar-cinnamon mixture on the top.
  • Bake in a preheated oven [200C - 392F] for 30 minutes on the buttom layer.
  • Top layer

  • Whisk egg whites and sugar with food mixer until it gets stiff.
  • When the pie is baked, spread egg whites mixture on the top and bake it for a few minutes. Supervise it all the time while baking - egg whites can't get brown and it has to be taken out before it happens.
  • Let the pie cool.
