Gail's Enchilada Sauce Or Gravy

My mother-in-law was from Texas and made some great Tex-Mex food. This was her go to enchilada sauce, which is more brown than red, but oh so tasty. She would only use Gebhardt Chili Powder, because she would accept no substitute, but I think any commercially blended Chili Powder would work, or make your own mix to your own taste.
