How to make it

  • Crush the garlic with the cloves using a mortar and pestle, or the side of a knife.
  • Pour the oil in a skillet and turn the heat to high. Toss in the chicken pieces and brown on all sides, just a couple minutes. Add the minced onions and cook until translucent, about 8-10 minutes.
  • Add the turmeric and the garlic mixture and stir until incorporated. Cook for 3 minutes. Pour in the tomatoes and thyme, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and cook for another 20 minutes. Add the mushrooms with 10 minutes left.
  • Season with salt, pepper and red pepper flakes, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve.

A whole chicken breast is both the left and right side breast of the chicken. When filleted out it makes two skinned boned breasts. Your ingredient list makes me believe I should be working with 6 individual breasts with or without skin and bone. Cut into three pieces each says I should be working with 18 pieces.
Those 3 people that this recipe serves had better bring an appetite.
I'm thinking you really meant to say 3 individual breasts.
