From jaie 16 years agoIngredients
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 2 tablespoons tequila shopping list
- 2 teaspoons seasoned salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper shopping list
- 2 envelopes instant margarita mix, from 3 1/2 ounce package shopping list
- 4 cups Corn Chex cereal shopping list
- 3 cups Rice Chex cereal shopping list
- 2 cups Wheat Chex cereal shopping list
- 1 cup mixed nuts shopping list
- 1 cup bite-sized pretzel twists shopping list
- 1 cup dried cranberries or cherries shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 250 degrees.
- In an ungreased large roasting pan, melt butter in the oven.
- Stir in tequila, seasoned salt, cayenne pepper and dry margarita mix.
- Stir in cereal, nuts and pretzel carefully, until evenly coated.
- Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Stir in cranberries.
- Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes.
- Store in an air-tight container until ready to serve. Makes 10- 1 cup servings.
- For cinco de mayo party, I served 10-1 cup servings in individual margaritas glasses that I salted the rims of. (Just run lime wedge on rim and dip into a shallow dish of bar salt.)
- ***For kid-friendly version, substitute 2 tablespoons of lime juice for the tequila.***
- ***If you aren't a fan of one the particular cereals, use 9 cups of whichever one you like. Or a combination of 2 to make 9 cups.***
