Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat oven to 250 degrees.
  • In an ungreased large roasting pan, melt butter in the oven.
  • Stir in tequila, seasoned salt, cayenne pepper and dry margarita mix.
  • Stir in cereal, nuts and pretzel carefully, until evenly coated.
  • Bake 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Stir in cranberries.
  • Spread on paper towels to cool, about 15 minutes.
  • Store in an air-tight container until ready to serve. Makes 10- 1 cup servings.
  • For cinco de mayo party, I served 10-1 cup servings in individual margaritas glasses that I salted the rims of. (Just run lime wedge on rim and dip into a shallow dish of bar salt.)
  • ***For kid-friendly version, substitute 2 tablespoons of lime juice for the tequila.***
  • ***If you aren't a fan of one the particular cereals, use 9 cups of whichever one you like. Or a combination of 2 to make 9 cups.***

I so agree with the others! We're big on Chex Mix especially in the winter curled up with a blanket, a movie & the fire. Will give this one a try for sure.

Gotta try this one - nice "twist" on the usual nut snack mix!
