How to make it

  • Beat the egg slightly with a wisk, then beat in the beer.
  • Add the dry ingredients, except poultry seasoning, and wisk until smooth.
  • Cover and let stand for 25 to 30 minutes.
  • Cut chicken breasts into strips.
  • Sprinkle poultry seasoning on the chicken strips, using your hand to spread evenly on both sides.
  • Heat oil over medium high heat to approximately 350 degrees. (I use a deep fryer)
  • Dip chicken strips in batter, and add to hot oil.
  • After about 1 minute, turn strips over.
  • Continue cooking, and turning strips until done. About 3 to 6 minutes.
  • Drain on paper towels.

These were very tasty but I do think some garlic powder and pepper would be good additions. I think I'd just put all the seasonings into the batter. I really didn't time these. I used my electric skillet but I suppose I probably cooked them around 6 minutes. I forgot to look. :) I added a couple of pictures and gave these a thread in IMI 4/20/14
