Ingredients

How to make it

  • 1. Wash peaches and oranges.
  • 2. Cut the oranges in half remove orange seeds then juice the oranges and set to one side
  • 3. Put the orange rind into a food chopper and chop fine. Do the same with the cherries. Set both to one side
  • 4. Blanch peaches to remove skin removing the stone. In a large bowl cut peaches into small pieces. Pour orange juice over peaches. Add the orange rind and cherries and mix slightly.
  • 5. Measure the fruit mixture into a large pot add on a ratio of 1 cup fruit to 1 cup of sugar and mix well.
  • 6. Bring the mixture to a boil and boil one hour or until desired thickness stirring occasionally to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot. Remove any foam which may form. Pour into sterile jars and cover loosely until cooled a bit then tighten covers.
  • Note
  • The peaches need to be ripe but not over ripen or they are have hard to peal. With sugar the measurement is 1 cup of the peach mixture to 1 cup of sugar. So if you measure 5 cups of mixture you will need 5 cups of sugar.

Candy in a jar! Very peachy, also orangey, and a little cherry-ish! This is a very well written recipe for anyone new to making jam or jelly. I followed it exactly and it turned out perfect. See more in IMI.
