Oct 13/16 We had this wonderful recipe last night. I used leftover turkey which DH and DS#2 brought back from dinner with DH's family. Now the turkey was already cut up and mixed with turkey and stuffing which I also added. I used leftover spiral ham and bumped it up 8 ozs. Another small tweak was I fried up some diced onions and mushrooms then once they were done added the I Cannot believe its not butter" and did rest of the recipe as written. My family just loves this recipe and I make it all the time.

'Glad i didn't halve this! It'd be gone! :D Son, 19, made a "mmm" noise - not a "mmmm"-this is good- noise. I say "What?" "It's better than I thought it would be." Me, "Thanks? You should work on your compliments." :D He's right though. It doesn't look as good as it tastes, but that's how casseroles are! 'Only tiny changes were turkey ham & I used a T or so of Swiss from the bag, not Parmesan. Oh, added some green onions. Mine was done in 30 minutes. 'Think I'll use a bit smaller dish next time; maybe 9x11 or a less. It wasn't thin, just my preference. 'Really glad I tried! Thanks, Linz! :) ... A couple days later: Daughter, 17, likes it but would rather have different noodles because it reminds her of tuna casserole with the same egg noodles & it make her want it. What?!? Yes, true. It improves with time, but still great on day one. Catch: By the time it's "aged," almost everyone has had enough. "Aged" has only been three days. 'Not too long for this girl to eat something good, but "them"? I guess (wahhh! ;D). Lastly, when I make this again, I'll go for 3/4 recipe, which will be a li'l easier since the offbrand, cheapo noodles I buy come in 12oz pkgs. :/ :)

This is a fantastic recipe and yes I have made it exactly as written but this time I had done some changes do to what I had. I used roasted turkey breast instead of chicken. This time I also cooked the egg noodles in a mixture was water and turkey drippings. Sub a mixture of cheddar, jalapeƱo and chili cheese. I found that I had to add extra milk as to me the sauce was a little thick I also added a 1/2 cup of starch water. Family loved this as they had the original recipe. Shows how versatile this recipe is. Thank you Lindsay for sharing this recipe with us.
