Fabulous Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

- 8oz egg noodles shopping list
- 1 stick butter (1/2 cup) shopping list
- 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup half and half shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup milk (I use 1%) shopping list
- 1 t. Salt shopping list
- 1/2 t. Pepper shopping list
- 6 oz shredded Swiss cheese shopping list
- 2 T. White wine shopping list
- 5oz diced ham shopping list
- 2 cups diced cooked chicken shopping list
- 1 cup garlic butter croutons shopping list
- 1 T. Grated parmesan cheese shopping list
- 1 T. Melted butter shopping list
How to make it
- Cook chicken and dice into large chunks. (Or debone roast chicken)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Boil water and cook egg noodles as directed leaving them a little al dente.
- Drain noodles well.
- Make roux by melting butter over medium heat. When melted, add flour and mix, stirring constantly until bubbly and light brown. Add half and half, milk, salt and pepper. Continue to stir on medium to med-low heat frequently until mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat. Add shredded cheese, wine, ham, and Chicken. Mix well.
- In large bowl, mix cooked noodles, ham/chicken/cheese mixture and stir till well mixed.
- Pour into well greased 9x13 casserole dish.
- Using food processor pulse croutons and parmesan cheese till finely ground. Mix in melted butter.
- Top casserole with crouton topping
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until hit and bubbly, lightly browned on top.
