Grilled Turkey Sandwich Reuben Style
From DIZ3 8 years agoIngredients
- 2 slices Rye bread (see note) shopping list
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. butter, softened shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. Thousand Island Dressing shopping list
- 1/3 c. Sauerkraut, drained shopping list
- 1 slice Swiss cheese shopping list
- 6 slices Deli style Turkey meat (or sub leftover turkey breast meat) shopping list
- 1 slice Red Onion shopping list
- 1 piece Leafy Lettuce shopping list
- 1 slice Tomato shopping list
How to make it
- Please Note: I buy rye bread out of the bakery section and the slices are typically larger than a standard size loaf of bread. You may need to adjust the recommended amounts in this recipe depending on the bread you buy. Any variety of rye bread will work.
- Spread one side of each slice of bread with butter.
- On the non-buttered side of one slice of bread, spread Thousand Island dressing. Evenly spread the sauerkraut over the dressing and top with Swiss cheese. Layer the turkey meat over the cheese and place the last slice of bread (buttered side out) on top.
- Heat a non-stick skillet on medium heat. Grill sandwich on both sides until golden brown and heated all the way through. Remove to plate.
- Carefully open the sandwich. Add the red onion, lettuce, and tomato. Close sandwich.
