Strawberry Cheesecake Cream Dessert

- 36 Golden Oreo cookies (about 1 standard/regular sized package) shopping list
- 6 tablespoons melted butter shopping list
- 1 and 1/4 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese, full fat shopping list
- 16 ounce container Cool Whip, divided as in directions below shopping list
- 2 small packages instant cheesecake pudding mix shopping list
- 3 cups half-and-half (fat free is OK to use) shopping list
- 4 cups cleaned and sliced fresh strawberries, plus a few whole berries for garnish, if desired shopping list
How to make it
- Use a food processor to crush the cookies to a fine pulp (or put cookies in a heavy duty freezer type zip-lock baggie and crush them finely with a rolling pin or flat side of a meat tenderizer).
- Transfer crushed cookies to a bowl and stir in melted butter, until blended. Press cookie/butter mixture FIRMLY into the bottom of a 9 x 13 baking dish.
- Beat together the powdered sugar, cream cheese and 1 cup of the Cool Whip until well blended. Spread this mixture over the cookie layer in the baking dish.
- Mix together pudding mix, half-and-half, and 1 more cup of Cool Whip. Spread this mixture over the cream cheese layer.
- Lay the sliced strawberries over the pudding layer.
- Use the remainder of the Cool Whip to "frost" the fresh strawberry layer.
- Cover dish and keep refrigerator until ready to serve.
- Garnish each serving with one whole strawberry, if desired.
