Pecan Pie Recipe
This recipe is from the Camellia Grill in New Orleans. Awesome with strong coffee and vanilla ice cream! I used a frozen Pillsbury pie crust.

Ingredients
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 9-inch pie shell, unbaked
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped or whole

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat eggs with a wire whisk or fork until foamy.
  3. Add the salt, melted butter, light corn syrup, brown sugar and vanilla.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Pour into unbaked pastry shell (you may have more filling than the shell will accomodate).
  6. Top the mixture with pecans.
  7. Bake for about 45 - 50 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack to room temperature before cutting.

Pecan pie is my fav


If using a deep dish pie crust: Cover edges of crust with foil and bake 55 minutes. Remove foil and bake for 5 more minutes.
