Texas Sheet Cake

- 2c. Flour shopping list
- 2 c. Sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. Salt shopping list
- 1/2 c. Vegetable Oil shopping list
- 1/2 c. butter or Margarine shopping list
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa shopping list
- 1 c. Water shopping list
- 2 Eggs shopping list
- 2 tsp. Vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 c. buttermilk shopping list
- Frosting: shopping list
- 1/2 c. butter or Margarine shopping list
- 4 Tbsp. cocoa shopping list
- 1/3 c. Milk shopping list
- 4 c.. Powdered Sugar, sifted shopping list
- 1 tsp. Vanilla shopping list
- 1 c. Chopped Pecans (optional) shopping list
How to make it
- 1) Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease a 10 x 15 jelly roll pan.
- 2) In a mixing bowl, add flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Mix together and set aside.
- 3) In a sauce pan, add veg. oil, butter, cocoa, and water. Stir and bring to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients. Mix until incorporated. Blend in eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk. Pour batter into prepared jelly roll pan.
- 4) Bake 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Frosting:
- 1) In a sauce pan, add butter, cocoa, and milk. Stir and bring to boil.
- 2) Gradually mix in powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts (if desired).
- 3) Pour frosting over warm cake and allow to cool.
