How to make it

  • 1) Preheat oven to 400 degrees and grease a 10 x 15 jelly roll pan.
  • 2) In a mixing bowl, add flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Mix together and set aside.
  • 3) In a sauce pan, add veg. oil, butter, cocoa, and water. Stir and bring to a boil. Pour over dry ingredients. Mix until incorporated. Blend in eggs, vanilla, and buttermilk. Pour batter into prepared jelly roll pan.
  • 4) Bake 20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Frosting:
  • 1) In a sauce pan, add butter, cocoa, and milk. Stir and bring to boil.
  • 2) Gradually mix in powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts (if desired).
  • 3) Pour frosting over warm cake and allow to cool.
