Marinara Sauce Recipe
This sauce is so good. I have also made it by stirring in a little bit of heavy cream into sauce right before serving.

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 small white onions chopped
  • 2 small carrots chopped
  • 1 garlic clove minced
  • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 18 medium very ripe plum tomatoes peeled, seeded and diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried hot red pepper

Directions
  1. Sauté onions, carrots and garlic in oil until onions are soft.
  2. Season with pepper then add tomatoes.
  3. Stir sauce well then add salt and cook uncovered for 20 minutes.
  4. Push sauce through a food mill then melt butter and add strained sauce.
  5. Cook 15 minutes stirring often.
  6. Right before serving add hot red pepper.
