Fruity Mincemeat Glazed Apples Recipe

Fruity Mincemeat Glazed Apples Recipe
Really good ham and pork. It is a bit of a pain to baste and glaze but the dish is worth it in the end. Never had a guest that didn't like these apples.

Does this look good? Yeah! / Nope
Ingredients
  • 1 small pkg cherry gelatin
  • 1 small pkg orange gelatin
  • 1 1/2 cups of boiling water
  • 1 cup of cold water
  • 6 large baking apples
  • 1 cup of prepared mincemeat (mom made her own from pot roast, vinegar, sugar, nuts, and raisins) I buy NONESUCH

Directions
  1. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add cold water.
  2. Core apples and starting at the stem end peel each apple down about one inch.
  3. Place apples, peeled side up in a large skillet. Fill cavities with mincemeat. Pour gelatin mixture over the top of the apples and bring just to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Cover and reduce heat and simmer fifteen minutes until the apples are tender.
  5. Remove cover and place under broiler, basting frequently for about 15 minutes until the apples are glazed and lightly browned.
