How to make it

  • Dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Add cold water.
  • Core apples and starting at the stem end peel each apple down about one inch.
  • Place apples, peeled side up in a large skillet. Fill cavities with mincemeat. Pour gelatin mixture over the top of the apples and bring just to a boil over medium heat.
  • Cover and reduce heat and simmer fifteen minutes until the apples are tender.
  • Remove cover and place under broiler, basting frequently for about 15 minutes until the apples are glazed and lightly browned.
