This is a classic example of a classic dish gussied up to be something very tastey and inviting. Once again if your on a budget this goes along way. It is great with fried potato's with onions, corn bread or bisquits. Great served in a bread bowl.

use canned potato soup instead of cream of mushroom

I used 2 pounds of white navy beans because at our store we have a choice of 1, 2 or 4 pound bags so a large bag means many things here. Also, I used a 2 pound can of minced clams and a family sized can of cream of mushroom soup. I also used 2/3 of a pot of a mixture of milk and half-n-half and the rest water.

Okay, I had this LARGE can of minsed clams that I purchased several months back from a seafood store on the docks here. I have been dying to use it and then came across this recipe you posted. First, HUGE hug for posting this recipe! OMG! WoW! and YUM! This chowder is phenomenal! I absolutely love it and everyone else that tasted it loved it too! It did make enough to feed the whole neighborhood but I have leftovers. Thank you so much for this recipe and the recipe is now traveling to my Mom in Arizona. I live in WA. =D
