I have my own tried and true recipe for "bread pudding" but here's one from Paula Deen that I am for sure going to try.
P.S. I just love Paula, as she reminds me of the wonderful memories I have of the many years spent in SC.

I would add rum instead of brandy altho I am sure brandy is good.

This turned out soooo good. Its very rich and tasty. My dad loved it and I will definetly make it again. I made 1/2 of the pan with brandy and 1/2 with out, for the kids.

I made this today for our office Christmas party and it was an absolute success! The entire pan was nearly gone and I had so many people asking for the recipe. My husband loved it so much, he vowed to never leave me :) I tweaked it just though. I doubled it and added twice the bread cubes (it looked incredibly soupy even after adding the extra bread). I dusted the wet mixture with cinnamon just before sprinkling the brown sugar/pecan mixture on top. I baked it an extra 5-10 minutes and DID NOT add the sauce. It was moist enough on its own and oh-so delicious!
