Blackberry And Apple Crumble Recipe

Ingredients

5 cooking apples,

3 or 4 handfuls of blackberry (more if you want)

100g sugar,

200g plain or self-raising flour [doesnt make much of a difference]

100g butter

100g caster sugar

Directions

Chop & peel the apples, put into a saucepan with a small amount of water and stew until slightly soft.

Add in the blackberries and the sugar and stir for about 30 seconds.

Pour into a oven proof dish that you wish to make your crumble in.

In a mixing bowl, sieve the flour, add the sugar and stir.

Add the butter bit by bit and rub in using the rubbing in method until it looks like bread crumbs.

Tip the crumble mixture ontop of the fruit mixture in the dish until all the mixture is used up.

Place into a pre-heated oven of 180 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Serving sugestions: Pour cream or natural yogurt over the top when served.

I am making this, being from the Pacific Northwest I'm surrounded by Blackberry bushes and our freezer is full of blackberries that need to be used up. I might just go get some fresh ones though for this recipe.
