Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons corn starch
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 egg yolks beaten
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon coconut flavoring
  • 1/2 cup shredded or flaked coconut
  • Whipped topping

Directions
  1. Mix cornstarch, sugar and salt in heavy saucepan.
  2. Gradually blend in milk then stir over moderate heat about 7 minutes until mixture thickens.
  3. Stir a little hot mixture into egg yolks then stir yolks into remaining hot mixture.
  4. Cook 1 minute.
  5. Stir constantly then mix in flavoring and coconut.
  6. Serve warm or chilled.
  7. Add whipped topping and coconut.
