Lemon Sauce for Pancakes

- 2 Tbsp cornstarch shopping list
- 1/2 C sugar shopping list
- pinch nutmeg shopping list
- pinch salt shopping list
- 1C water shopping list
- 2 Tbsp lemon juice (about 1/2 a lemon) shopping list
- 1 tsp lemon zest shopping list
- 2 Tbsp butter shopping list
How to make it
- In a medium saucepan, combine cornstarch, sugar, nutmeg, salt.
- Stir in 1 C water and whisk litely to dissolve.
- Place over medium heat and cook til mixture is thick and clear.
- Whisk in lemon juice and zest, and butter and remove from heat once butter is melted in .
- Serve hot over pancakes of choice.
- Makes about 1 1/2 C or enough for about 20 five inch pancakes.
