How to make it

  • Peel bananas and slice them in half lengthwise .
  • Sauté in butter until golden brown.
  • Drain them in absorbent paper and place them on a platter. Cool.
  • Sprinkle with one - half of the sugar.
  • Whip cream until stiff and fold in the remaining sugar, rum, and vanilla.
  • Cover bananas completely with this mixture.
  • Chill. Serve sprinkled with ground cloves
