Chocolate Chip Yogurt Cookies Recipe
These cookies stay soft for days after baking. Egg free, delicately flavored, and totally delicious with about half the fat of regular chocolate chip cookies!

Ingredients
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. yogurt (I usually use vanilla, but have tried other flavors such as orange, lemon, or raspberry with great results).
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. dark-chocolate chocolate chips

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the sugars, butter, and shortening until light and fluffy. Add yogurt and vanilla; blend well.
  3. Sift in flour, soda, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonsful onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 8-12 minutes (I usually bake them for 11 minutes).
  6. Cool for one minute, then remove from the baking sheet to a wire rack.

I made these organic by using organic ingredients and I used bittersweet chocolate baking bar that I chopped into pieces in order to lower the fat and increase the heart healthy benefits of chocolate...these are GRRRRREAT !
