light vanilla biscuits

- 125g butter shopping list
- 125g caster sugar shopping list
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
- 250g plain flour shopping list
- vanilla essence shopping list
How to make it
- cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until creamy and soft, then gradually beat in the egg.
- add two cap fulls of vanilla essence.
- sift the flour and mix into the mixture using a spoon to begin with and then your hands.
- gather the mixture together and knead for a few mins to make a smooth dough.
- wrap the dough in cling film and cool in the fridge for 30 mins.
- once dough has been chilled heat the oven to 180 degrees gas mark 4.
- roll out the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
- cut out shapes and place on a baking tray.
- bake for ten mins until golden.
