Really Italian Bread

- 1 loaf Italian or French bread, cut in half lengthwise shopping list
- 1 clove garlic, minced (or an equivilent amount of garlic powder) shopping list
- 1/3 cup olive oil shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup green onion, thinly sliced shopping list
- 1 tomato, seeded and finely diced shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded shopping list
How to make it
- Place bread, cut side up, on foil lined baking sheet.
- Combine garlic, oil, salt and pepper.
- (If using fresh garlic, heat oil and garlic in small saucepan until warmed and fragrant to blend flavors.)
- Drizzle oil mixture over bread.
- Sprinkle with green onions and tomato.
- Top with cheese.
- Bake in upper half of oven for 5 to 7 minutes or until cheese is melted and slightly browned.
- Cut in 1 inch slices to serve.
