How to make it

  • Butter a large sheet of foil and sprinkle lightly with salt.
  • To blanch nuts place shelled almonds in boiling water for seven to eight minutes.
  • Drain and dry on absorbent towels.
  • Remove almond skins.
  • Place sugar and butter in small skillet.
  • Cook over medium heat for 10 to 12 minutes stirring constantly until sugar dissolves.
  • Add almonds and stir until well coated.
  • Pour onto foil.
  • Cool and break into pieces.
