Estate sale purchased recipe that sounds very interesting to me. I have not tried it yet but fully intend to. Has to be good, don't you think?

Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 cups flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cider vinegar
  • 1 cup warm water

Directions
  1. In an ungreased square pan combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.
  2. Make three holes in the mixture.
  3. Pour butter into one hole, vanilla into second hold and vinegar into third hole.
  4. Add warm water and mix until well blended.
  5. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 40 minutes.

My mom and grandmother made this cake and it's seriously the BEST chocolate cake ever! Every once in a while I will suddenly realize that I'm craving this HARD CORE. My brother and I really liked it when my mom would make it and leave it plain. It's such a moist, rich chocolate it really didn't need frosting.
