Its Just Sauce

- 2-15 oz. cans of tomato sauce shopping list
- 1- 6oz can tomato paste shopping list
- 2 cups of water shopping list
- 2 lg. portaballo mushroom caps, thinly sliced ( size is personal preference) shopping list
- 1 med. sweet onion, diced shopping list
- 1-2 lbs.of any meat of your choice, browned and any grease drained from it shopping list
- 1/8 cup of extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- 1 T. light brown sugar shopping list
- 2 T cayenne pepper shopping list
- 2 T black pepper shopping list
- salt to taste ( I use sea salt... safer for peeps with blood pressure concerns) shopping list
- 3 T dried basil shopping list
- 3 T dried parsley shopping list
- 4 T dried oregano shopping list
- 1 T celery salt shopping list
- 2 T garlic powder shopping list
- 1 T butter or margarine shopping list
- 1 lrg sauce pan shopping list
- 1 frying pan shopping list
How to make it
- All ingredients in this sauce is variable so don't be afraid to "play" with it
- add all wet ingredients to a heavy sauce pan
- cook over medium heat until it comes to a soft boil
- add dry ingredients
- continue to cook over medium/ low heat
- brown meat and drain, set aside
- in same pan, melt butter and slightly cook mushroom and onion
- add to sauce once mushroom and onion are soft
- now add meat
- increase heat and bring to a rolling boil
- reduce heat and simmer for approximately 2 hours
- serve over your favorite pasta and enjoy : )
