Hoisin Chicken

- 4 whole skinless boneless chicken breasts cut into small serving sized pieces. shopping list
- 1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon cornstarch shopping list
- 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger shopping list
- 2 medium yellow onions chopped shopping list
- 8 oz fresh broccoli cut into 1 inch pieces shopping list
- 1 red or green bell pepper chopped shopping list
- 2 4 oz cans of whole button mushrooms drained shopping list
- 1 cup water shopping list
- 3 tablespoons dry sherry shopping list
- 3 tablespoons cider vinegar shopping list
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce shopping list
- 4 teaspoons soy sauce shopping list
- 2 teaspoons instant chicken bouillion granules shopping list
- oil for frying shopping list
How to make it
- Place the 1/2 cup cornstarch in a large bowl
- add the chicken pieces and toss to coat well
- heat oil in wok or larte skillet over high heat to 375 degrees
- add chicken slowly 1/3 at a time and cook until golden brown and cooked throughly about 5 minutes
- drain on paper towels
- remove all but 2 tablespoons oil from wok or skillet
- add ginger and stir fry 1 minute
- add onions stir fry 1 minute
- add broccoli red pepper and mushrooms stir fry for 2 minutes
- combine remaining ingredients and 1 tablespooncornstarch in small bowl
- add to wok cook and stir until sauce boils and thickens
- add chicken back into mix heat through and serve
