  • Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. In a large bowl, cream the margarine with 2 cups of sugar until light and fluffy. Beat
  • in the eggs until well combined. Stir together flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda. Beat the flour mixture into the
  • margarine mixture alternately with the sour cream. Beat in the vanilla.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the apples and the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar. Fold into the batter and spoon half of the batter into the pan. Smooth with a spatula.
  • In a medium bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts. Sprinkle over the batter. Spoon the other half of the batter on top and smooth with spatula.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 70 minutes.
  • Cool and remove from the pan

    Henrie, can I make this with butter rather than margarine. I have five pounds of butter on hand and all the rest of the ingrediants other that margarine.
