Iowa Apple Crisp Recipe
Apple crisp speaks for itself...a fall favorite loved by all! Top with homemade vanilla bean ice cream.

Ingredients
  • 1 c br. sugar
  • 1 c white sugar
  • 11/2 c butter
  • 1 c flour
  • 2 c quick oatmeal
  • 3 tsp cinnamon (to taste)
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • 3lb bag of Jonathon Apples

Directions
  1. Mix br. sugar, white sugar and butter together
  2. Next add the flour, quick oatmeal, cinnamon and nutmeg to the above mixture and stir until combined
  3. peel and slice apples and place in a greased 9 x 13 pan
  4. sprinkle them with salt and cinnamon
  5. Last, crumble the oatmeal mixture over the apples until well covered
  6. Bake @ 350 for 45min. or until bubbly and apples are tender.

My daughter (she's the baker in the family) made it and used Northern Spy (we live in the middle of the Hudson Valley the land of pumpkin, corn, wine and apples) since she is used to it and wow the house smelled great and the flavor was out of this world. This one is a keeper. Thanks!
