Tofu And Avacado Canapes

- Canapé Base: shopping list
- 1 package (12 oz.) tofu, Extra shopping list
- Firm, drained shopping list
- Marinade: shopping list
- ¼ cup soy sauce shopping list
- ¼ cup mirin (Japanese sweet cooking wine) shopping list
- ¼ cup Saké shopping list
- ¼ cup rice vinegar shopping list
- orange juice and/or lemon juice to taste (optional) shopping list
- Canapé Topping: shopping list
- 1 package (7 oz.) tofu, Medium shopping list
- Firm, drained shopping list
- 3 medium okra, cooked and sliced shopping list
- 1 Tbsp. mayonnaise shopping list
- 1 tsp. wasabi shopping list
- ½ avocado shopping list
- 2 oz. crab meat shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Canapé Base:
- Blot excess water from Tofu Extra Firm by patting between paper towels. Slice Tofu into 16 pieces.
- In a glass pie plate, mix together all ingredients for marinade. Place sliced Tofu in marinade for 15 minutes to absorb flavor, turning once.
- Drain before using.
- Canapé Topping:
- Blot excess water from Tofu Medium Firm by putting between paper towels.
- Cut Tofu into pieces and place in a food processor.
- Add okra, mayonnaise and wasabi, blend until smooth. Pour out into a mixing bowl.
- Finely dice avocado and crab meat. Toss with Tofu mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Place a spoonful of topping on each Tofu base to serve.
