How to make it

  • Preheat 375
  • Sift together:
  • 1 1/2 C all-purpose flour
  • resift w/ 1/4 tsp salt and 2 tsp baking powder
  • Sift :
  • 1/4 to 1/2 C Sugar
  • Cream until soft, 1/4 C butter
  • Add sugar gradually and cream these ingredients until light. Beat in:
  • 1 egg, 2/3 C milk
  • Add sifted ingredients to the butter mixture.
  • Add 3/4 tsp grated lemon rind or 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Stir in batter until smooth. Spread in greased pan and bake about 25minutes. Cover with streusel
  • Streusel:
  • Combine 2 tbs all-purpose flour, 2 tbl butter, 5 tbl sugar. Blend all until they crumble.
  • Add 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • Sprinkle the crumbs over cake and bake.
  • Add 1/4 to 1/2 C chopped nuts
