this is one of the first recipes i ever made, and really is the only sugar cookie i will eat! They are soft, light, not overly sweet, and sooo tasty!

Ingredients
  • 2 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup butter flavored Crisco
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg

Directions
  1. sift together dry ingredients
  2. with electric mixer, cream together margarine and crisco
  3. beat in vanilla and egg with the creamed mixture
  4. add dry ingredients and beat until smooth
  5. grease your cookie sheet
  6. drop a teaspoon at a time onto the cookie sheet
  7. slightly flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass or measuring cup that has been dipped in sugar
  8. bake at 400 degrees for about 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned

What't the crisco? sorry, i know it sounds dumb but i'm from SA. don't know all these names.


I had a sweet tooth bad today. I lost count how many sugar cookie recipes I searched till I came across yours. Finaly one with no chilling. Had to try it. After a tall glass of Milk and lost count on cookies Im stuffed and Very Happy with this recipe. Thanks for Sharing...
