Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 425°F.
  • Combine flour, salt, sugar, baking powder and sugar in a large bowl.
  • Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mix resembles coarse meal.
  • Add milk all at once and stir until the dough forms a ball around the fork.
  • Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead 15 times.
  • Roll dough to 1/2 inch thick.
  • Cut into rounds with a 3" cutter.
  • Place about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

    Thanks so much for this recipe!! Now that I know my baking powder is 6 YEARS OLD (so I'm a beginner.. haven't cooked much with it in the last 6 yrs) I've been making pretty darn good biscuits!! lol Your recipe is great!! T Y

    I just want to thank Kdbradly for the biscuit recipe. I changed it by useing a stick of butter to replace the Crisco shorting and my 3/4 cup of milk was spoiled. I didn't know it until I had mixed everything else and said what the heck. They'll be butter milk biscuits. They may not have been the best biscuit I ever made but they were right up there with them.
