Biscuits

    Recipe by Kdbradley: Biscuits/saved
Good biscuit recipe. Tender crumb. Good flavor. Good rise, a full inch over the half inch biscuit cut.
Kind of unusual mixing requirement: "Add milk all at once and stir until the dough forms a ball around the fork." That's usually a precursor for gluten formation which makes the biscuit tough. Not the case in this recipe. I usually fluff the liquid in with a fork but followed this recipe to the letter.
The recipe pic looks like it has 6 to 8 layers in the biscuit. I suspect it is not a biscuit made using this recipe. Looks more like a store bought biscuit.

Points, Nice pic and review:-) This looks like more of what you are after in a biscuit. Bookmarked this one to try. Oh are you going to link your comments in the recipe back to here?

I've been looking at a lot of biscuit recipes lately and that one has sugar in it. I don't recall seeing that many with sugar in them. You ended up with a beautiful biscuit - much nicer than the photo posted originally. :)

Oh - is this going to be a biscuits thread much like your soup thread? :)

    Hadn't really thought about it.
Recipe made 11 biscuits but I guess we could argue as to what a half inch is. A couple more licks of the rolling pin would have made a dozen.

PEO, you amaze me again. You're right about that photo but I never would have caught that.
