How to make it

  • For the patties:
  • Combine all patty ingredients (except veg. oil) in a large bowl and form into 4 patties about 3/4 inch thick.
  • Cover and refrigerate for an hour.
  • In a large frying pan heat oil over medium heat then cook patties in the oil for about 3 minutes per side or until golden. Set aside but keep warm.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium size saucepan, melt the butter then add mushrooms and green onions. Cook until veggies are softened, about 3 minutes.
  • Stir in the flour, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute then stir in the broth.
  • Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened then stir in the walnuts.
  • Serve the sauce over the rice patties.
