Sausage Marinara Sauce Recipe
This is an incredible sauce. Even thuogh you have to cook it on slow for several hours it is well worth the effort. Fabulous over pasta or rice. Yummy in my tummy.

Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic peeled and minced
  • 1/2 pound mushrooms
  • 6 cans tomato sauce
  • 1 bottle red wine
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil chiffonade
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seed crushed
  • 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar

Directions
  1. In a large heavy pot brown the meat in olive oil over medium high fire.
  2. Add minced garlic and mushrooms cooking until mushrooms have fully given up their liquid.
  3. Turn fire down to low and add remaining ingredients.
  4. Let simmer very slowly for 8 hours stirring occasionally to avoid sticking.
