Sausage Marinara Sauce

- 1 pound ground sausage shopping list
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- 6 cloves garlic peeled and minced shopping list
- 1/2 pound mushrooms shopping list
- 6 cans tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 bottle red wine shopping list
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil chiffonade shopping list
- 1 teaspoon oregano shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon fennel seed crushed shopping list
- 2 teaspoons red wine vinegar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon sugar shopping list
How to make it
- In a large heavy pot brown the meat in olive oil over medium high fire.
- Add minced garlic and mushrooms cooking until mushrooms have fully given up their liquid.
- Turn fire down to low and add remaining ingredients.
- Let simmer very slowly for 8 hours stirring occasionally to avoid sticking.
