Maple Syrup Muffins Recipe
OMG. What an awesome muffin to wake up to for breakfast or brunch. Good at room temperature but better warm. Yummers.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1-1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • Glaze:
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 cup icing sugar
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Lightly grease 8 large muffin cups.
  3. Soften margarine.
  4. Blend in sugar and salt.
  5. Add dry ingredients and blend with pastry cutter until crumbly.
  6. Mix in oats.
  7. Blend milk and syrup together and pour over dry ingredients stirring only until just combined.
  8. Bake for 20 minutes.
  9. Combine butter, sugar and maple syrup together.
  10. Cool muffins slightly and spread glaze over tops.
