I used 1 1/2 cups white sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 4 sticks of butter. Came out buttery, melt in your mouth good. I scale down the sugar though to 1 cup rather 1 1/2 a little too sweet but my family adored them even my picky three year old. thumbs up
