  • 1 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 tsp brandy
  • 1 tsp grated orange peel
  • 3/4cup milk
  • Ingredients for syrup:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water, lemon juice

  2. In a mixer, beat the butter and sugar until the mixture turns white.

  6. Bake the cake in a moderate, preheated oven for about one hour. Prepare the syrup.
