  • MELT BUTTER
  • STIR IN COCOA
  • ALTERNATING ADDING POWDERED SUGAR AND MILK.
  • BEAT ON MEDIUM SPEED TO SPREAD CONSISTENCY, ADD MORE MILK IF NEEDED OR MORE SUGAR
  • I LIKE TO MAKE THIS WITHOUT THE COCOA AS WELL, INCREASE THE SUGAR UNTIL FLUFFY...I USE IT ON A WHITE CAKE WITH LEMON FILLING AND THEN THE WHITE ICING WITH COCONUT

    This has been my go to chocolate frosting for years, but I've never made it without the cocoa. Do you still melt the butter? That seems to go against every "buttercream" recipe I've found. But then I've not found a vanilla frosting I like as well as I like this Hershey's chocolate recipe!

    I don't know why, but this was the best chocolate frosting I've ever made. Fluffy and rich flavor! I did use regular salted butter 'cause thats all I had, but you can't tell. Who needs cake, just give me a spoon!
