one thing is missing, though: black forest cake does have liquor in it - and as i like to cook with it (although drink very little) i would like to suggest to sprinkle the cake (if you are making this desert for adults)with 'kirschwasser' if you can get it. that is a clear liquor (like vodka) but made of and smelling of cherries. if you cannot get it, a bit of cherry liqueur will suffice, too. it increases the cherry aroma.
