This looks really good and i would like to try it...
but i do not understand the directions for the wrappers...?

You're so right! Sorry about that :)
Ok for the wrapper - you "paint" brush the griddle with enough batter to make a 4x4" square.
It takes only about 1 minute to cook on the griddle before done! Then peel the wrapper off and start a new one :)
Let me know if that helps! :)

I have been looking for an authentic recipe for Lumpia for half my life! Thank you sooo much for sharing.

AHAH! are you Filipina?

No I am not, but I am originally from San Francisco and there I ate the real thing at all of my friends houses when I was young. There is a large communtity of Filipino-Americans there. I missed them soooo much. I love the culture too. :)

Made these today. I couldn't get the wrappers thin enough so I purchased some. YuMMMMMM!

Great traditional recipe for lumpia and wrappers! I learned to make Lumpia from scratch while living in Guam several years ago. Once you get the hang of 'painting' the wrapper batter on a skillet you will never want to use commercial wrappers again but it does take a little practice. My filling recipe is a bit different so you can modify the ingredients to suit your own taste

I've never heard of this and it sounds so good! In the picture, though, it looks like several different types of foods... are they all lumpia? How do you make the different styles?
