My husband absolutely loves this dish.

Ingredients
  • l lb.ground beef
  • 3 large onions,sliced
  • l large green pepper,chopped
  • l(16oz)can diced tomatoes(do NOT drain)
  • 1/2 cup.uncooked regular rice
  • 2 tsp.salt
  • 1 to 2 tsp.chili power
  • 1/4 tsp.pepper

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. In large skillet cook and stir meat,onions
  2. and green peppers until meat is brown and vegetables are tender.
  3. Drain off fat.Stir in tomatoes,rice,salt,chili power and pepper
  4. Heat through.Pour into ungreased 2 quart casserole.Cover with
  5. foil(or lid)and bake 1 hour.
  6. I like to add about a cup of shredded Longhorn Colby cheddar
  7. cheese the last ten minutes or so.Cheese is not a standard
  8. ingredient in Texas Hash,but hey,in opinion,you can never go
  9. wrong with adding cheese!Lol.
